It’s been reported by Tim Panaccio on Wednesday that Jaromir Jagr is working on another 1 year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Flyers see nothing but money symbols.
The Flyers blew up the core of their 2010 Stanley Cup runner up team and what did they do to keep ratings and revenue high? Well they brought in one of the best NHL players to ever play the game, Jaromir Jagr. When the Flyers first signed Jagr I mentioned it was probably because he would get to play in a Winter Classic game, and although it was cut short because of injury, he still got to play outside.
But why Flyers?! Why resign this 40 year old, who shows signs of fatigue towards the end of the season?
Oh that’s right….money is everything to this organization.
I could just see GM Paul Holmgren and owner Ed Snider’s face when they saw how long the line was at the Flyers Wive’s Fight for Lives Carnival to meet Jaromir Jagr.
“Why not bring him back and make more money off of him?” They most likely asked one another.
Anyways, you heard it first here at Pucking Hockey, the Flyers will go another year without the Stanley Cup, Jagr is not the answer for this Flyes team. Unless of course Jagr finds a way to NOT get fatigued towards the end of the season. Oh and of course stays injury free.
Either way, keep purchasing his jersey’s and any merchandise that relates to Jagr, because that’s all the Flyers organization cares about anyways. I mean, why else would they blow up the 2010 Stanley Cup runner up team? Why else would the guys they traded be in the Stanley Cup finals? (Gagne, Richards and Carter)
Stupidity comes to mind, but what’s new?
