Boston Bruins: GM Peter Chiarelli said he’s keeping an eye on the Rick Nash discussions.
Tim Thomas waived his no-movement clause that would have expired at July 1st. Teams that are close to the cap floor have inquired.
Have Drafted P.K. Subban’s younger brother. Just when you thought the rivalry couldn’t get that much better between the Bruins and Canadiens. P.K. even went over to the Bruins table and thanked the organization for drafting his younger brother.
Traded the rights to restricted free agent Benoit Pouliot to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday for forward Michel Ouellet and a 2012 fifth-round pick at the NHL entry draft in Pittsburgh.
New York Rangers: Brandon Prust’s days as a Ranger are likely over.
Winnipeg Jets: Goalie Ondrej Pavelec has a 1 year offer worth more than $5 million from St. Petersburg of the KHL. Pavelec reportedly is looking for a 4 year deal worth around $4 million per season. The Jets may be thinking something lower or he may have been re-signed by now. If the Jets don’t want to pay to keep him and decide to look at the trade market, the Maple Leafs would likely be interested, with the Blue Jackets not far behind.
Jonas Gustavsson was traded to the Jets, and hard to believe Ondrej Pavelec stays with Winnipeg. I think he’s a good goalie and the only reason the Jets had a slight chance at making the playoffs last season.
Evander Kane’s agent said on Tuesday that there is no truth to the rumor that Kane doesn’t want to re-sign with the Jets, and some talks could happen this weekend.
Detroit Red Wings: Jaromir Jagr interested the Red Wings last season, and will likely interest them again this year. They offered him $2.5 million last year before he signed for $3.3 million with the Flyers. The Wings want to add a top 6 forward, and if they can’t land Zach Parise, Jagr could be part of their backup plan. The Red Wings would like to re-sign Jiri Hudler, but he may test free agency.
If the Red Wings don’t get Ryan Suter, Jason Garrison, Dennis Wideman or Matt Carle, Filip Kuba could be an option.
Chicago Blackhawks: They still don’t have a legit #2 center, and Patrick Kane may be a better trade chip than a #2 center. Even if they still make the error of having Kane at center, they are still 2 forwards short in their top 6. Bowman says that Marian Hossa continues to improve.
Vancouver Canucks: 5 potential teams Roberto Luongo will play for next season: Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Vancouver Canucks.
San Jose Sharks: Sharks names being speculated in a potential Rick Nash deal: Ryane Clowe, Joe Pavelski, Jason Demers, and a 1st round pick.
Ottawa Senators: Senators names being speculated in a potential Rick Nash deal: Robin Lehner, Mika Zibanejad and a 1st round pick.
Phoenix Coyotes: Not actively shopping Keith Yandle but listening to offers. The Coyotes could use a #1 center.
Philadelphia Flyers: The Blue Jackets traded a 2012 2nd (#45), 4th (#117) and a 2013 4th round pick to the Flyers for Sergei Bobrovsky.
Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said that Michael Leighton is an option as Ilya Bryzgalov’s backup next year. FINALLY!
Bobby Ryan want’s to play for Philly, only thing is, he’s just another James Van Riemsdyk. Overrated.
Coyotes GM Don Maloney was canvassing for offers for defenseman Keith Yandle. The Flyers would be interested, but so would the Red Wings and others. Yandle has 4 years left on his deal with a $5.25 million salary cap hit. The Flyers are still interested in Ducks Bobby Ryan, but a source said the price is very high, Brayden Schenn or Sean Couturier plus James van Riemsdyk. The Flyers at the moment don’t want to part with Schenn or Couturier.
Anaheim Ducks: Have traded Lubomir Visnovsky to the New York Islanders for a 2013 2nd round pick. Visnovsky is owed $3 million salary for next year, but has a $5.6 million cap hit.
Ducks Bobby Ryan is fed up with the Ducks and wants out.
Dallas Stars: The Washington Capitals have traded for center Mike Ribeiro from the Dallas Stars for Cody Eakin and a 2nd round pick.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Have traded center Jordan Staal to the Carolina Hurricanes for Brandon Sutter, Brian Dumoulin and Carolina’s 1st round pick.
Colorado Avalanche: Have re-signed Matt Duchene to a 2 year contract. Duchene gets $3.25 million next year and $3.75 million the following year.
They have also traded defenseman Zbynek Michalek to the Phoenix Coyotes for Harrison Ruopp, Marc Cheverie and a 2012 3rd round pick (# 81). The 2 sides are also rumored to be talking about Keith Yandle.
GM Ray Shero said it’s possible that they add another impact player via trade or free agency.
New York Islanders: GM Garth Snow said he has no plans to talk with P.A. Parenteau’s agent, Allan Walsh, at the draft. He’s likely headed elsewhere.
Edmonton Oilers: Drafted Nail Yakupov number one overall, these Oilers are going to be a legitimate threat in the Western Conference in the very near future.
Montral Canadiens: Won’t trade P.K. Subban.
Florida Panthers: Are interested in Luongo, but only for a cheap, cheap price. Most likely will NOT happen,
Nashville Predators: A source said that the Penguins were working hard to get the rights to Ryan Suter. Though Suter has expressed interest in remaining in the Western Conference, Pens GM Ray Shero thinks he can talk him into coming to Pittsburgh. Shero drafted Suter in 2003. The Flyers have interest in Suter, but sources say he doesn’t have interest in coming to Philadelphia.
New Jersey Devils: GM Lou Lamoriello on if he’s had any negotiations with Zach Parise: “No, not at this point.” I don’t excpect Zach Parise to stay in New Jersey. I excpect him to either land in Minnesota or Pittsburgh.
