Philadelphia Flyers vs Pittsburgh Penguins
NHL Starting Goalies
- Philadelphia Flyers -> Steve Mason (likely)
Steve Mason turned aside 32 of 35 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Mason played well Tuesday night but allowed the go ahead goal to Matt Hunwick with just eight seconds left to play in regulation. Mason’s record falls to 10-11-6 with a 2.67 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage. Mason has faced thirty or more shots in four of his last five starts (3-1-1)
Mason is 4-5 with a 2.24 goals against average on the road while he is 2-3 with a 2.13 goals against average in his career vs Pittsburgh. Steve Mason has a 1.29 goals per game in his last five starts against Pittsburgh.
- Pittsburgh Penguins -> Marc-Andre Fleury
Marc-Andre Fleury was the first goaltender off the ice following the Penguins’ Thursday morning skate. That’s usually a good signal that Fleury will be the starting goaltender. He has a 2.28 goals against average and .925 save percentage in 32 contests this season.
Fleury is 9-7 with a 2.37 goals against average at home, while vs the Flyers he’s 24-19 with a 2.90 goals against average in his career.
