Enough with the PK Subban hate

Montreal Canadiens P.K. Subban celebrates his game winning goal on the Calgary Flames during the overtime period in their NHL hockey game in MontrealCall me crazy, but I don’t understand all this PK Subban hate.

There are mixed reports but apparently PK Subban was asking for a 4-5 year deal, $30-million contract. The Habs broke him down and he signed a two-year, $5.75-million contract on Jan. 28, 2013. Whether he will stay in Montreal or not, that is all on his shoulders now.

In four games so far with the Canadiens, with Pk Subban in the lineup, the Habs are 2-2 and PK has 2G, 2A for 4pts. That’s not bad at all, I guess practicing with that Mississauga team paid off while he was “holding out”.

The BIG question though is, does PK Subban’s team mates dislike him? Some say yes, some say no. I believe there are a few that dislike him, but think about it, if they do they won’t come out and say it and cause drama in Montreal.

As a matter of fact, when Subban was paid, he took the team out to dinner and even hung out with Josh Gorges to watch the Super Bowl.

When Buffalo’s tough guy John Scott, 6′ 8″, punched PK Subban in the face, Francis Bouillon was ready to drop the gloves. Well, this is a team sport, everyone is supposed to stick up for one another whether you like the guy or not, that’s just the way of the game, the colors don’t run no matter who is wearing them.

PK Subban brings a lot to the blue line. He moves the puck well, has a devastating check and his shot is one of the most powerful shots in the NHL. He helps out in his community and participates in a lot of charity games. But when it comes to not showing up to play for the team that pays you because you want more money, that doesn’t fly with me. And what makes it even worse, mysteriously actor Will Smith was in Montreal for the big rival match-up against the Bruins.

Gee, I wonder why he was there, and I wonder why he was holding a PK Subban jersey….you get my drift. Don’t take that the wrong way though, Will Smith is from Philly as am I, so I love the guy.

Other than not showing up and playing the hold out game, PK Subban is an excellent defenseman. In my opinion, one of the best in today’s game. There isn’t an NHL team out there that wouldn’t want him on their team, heck, I would LOVE for him to be in Philly and wearing the orange and black. And I know the fans would love him with his style of play.

The bottom line is, whenever you hear a lot of controversy surrounding an NHL player, 9 out of 10 times, that player is a great hockey player and others are just jealous. For example: Sidney Crosby.
