Free Hockey Pick Edmonton Oilers vs Washington Capitals
Free Hockey Pick Edmonton Oilers vs Washington Capitals 11/23/15 November 23rd 2015- I think the Oilers may be jelling on offense with the absence of Connor McDavid finally. Their last outing they blew out the New Jersey Devils 5-1 giving them just their 7th win of the season. In my opinion Taylor Hall has finally molded into the player we all expected him to be, and if he stays healthy this will be his breakout year and should carry the Oilers on his shoulders.
Young star Leon Draisaitl he had a goal and two assists vs the Devils. He is now second on the team in goals with 10 and 2nd in points with 17. Leading the team in goals with 15 and points with 24 is Taylor hall, who also had a goal and two assists in the win over New Jersey.
The Oilers have been a solid offensive squad this year as they come in ranked 11th in the league in goals scored (2.8 gpg) and 15th in power play conversions, while on defense is where the Oilers have had their issues as they rank 28th in goals allowed (3.2 gpg) and 22nd in penalty kill.
How about these Capitals, will this be the year? Is this the year Ovechkin and company have enough stamina after an 82 game season and a tough playoff “season”.? 13-5-1 this season and sit in second place in the Metro division and look like a team ready to finally jump into the league’s elite and get Alex Ovechkin an elusive Stanley Cup ring.
The Caps are a tough team to play at the Verizon Center and while Edmonton looked good against the Devils they are up against a different monster here and I don’t see it ending well for the blue and orange.
The Washington Capitals have many scoring options on their team and that was certainly on display in their 7-3 win over Colorado as seven players scored in the game. Alex Ovechkin was one of the goal scorers as he notched his 10th of the year, while Evgeny Kuznetsov added his 7th of the year and he had two assists in the game as well. Jason Chimera also have solid game as he put up three assist in the win. This is a strong offense that now ranks 4th in the league in scoring (3.2 gpg) and 6th in power play conversions (22%).
Goaltender Braden Holtby has 111 wins currently leading the league. Holtby is 3-2 with a 1.98 GAA in his career vs Edmonton. The Capitals have not been all about offense this year as they come in ranked 6th in the league in goals allowed, giving up just 2.3 gpg, while also ranking 2nd in shots allowed and 8th in penalty kill.
