- Nashville Predators -> Pekka Rinne
Pekka Rinne snapped a five game losing skid in the Preds’ 4-1 win over Winnipeg on Thursday night. Rinne was superb, stopping 26 of 27 shots to help secure the victory. He is 17-15-7 this season with a .903 save percentage and 2.54 goals against average.
Pekka Rinne has allowed 99 goals on 1,023 shots faced and Carter Hutton has given up 18 goals on 200 shots. Rinne has allowed nine goals in his last three games.
- Edmonton Oilers -> Cam Talbot (likely)
Cam Talbot allowed three goals on 35 shots Thursday night in the Oilers’ 3-2 loss to Dallas. It was the first time in four games that Talbot has allowed more than two goals. He falls to 9-14-3 this season with a .915 save percentage and 2.58 goals against average.
Cam Talbot has allowed 68 goals on 801 shots faced and Anders Nilsson has given up 70 goals on 722 shots. Talbot has allowed six goals in his last three games.
Predators vs Oilers Preview
Nashville are currently averaging 2.5 goals per game, while scoring on 20.3% of their power plays. Defensively, the Nashville Predators are allowing 2.7 goals per game and are killing 77.8% of their power play chances.
James Neal leads Nashville with 17 goals, Roman Josi has 23 assists and Filip Forsberg has 140 shots on goal.
The Predators won 4-1 in their last visit to Edmonton on October 29th, 2014, and haven’t allowed a goal in the last two overall meetings. Nashville has never shut out the same opponent in three consecutive contests.
