Toronto Maple Leafs vs Washington Capitals
Montreal will wipe the ice with Toronto’s jersey. The Leafs have struggled going 4-4 from March through April versus playoff contenders. And struggled to clinch the playoffs until their last game of the season. This will still be an exciting series as I am expecting a lot of goals throughout the series.
It won’t last long, give me Washington in four games with the easy sweep. But won’t make it out of the 2nd round. <- there’s why
Ottawa Senators vs Boston Bruins
Through March I was all over Ottawa but the loss of Marc Methot is huge. And they finished 5-5 versus playoff contenders from March through April. However, 2-0 versus playoff teams through April. One of those wins over the Bruins in overtime 2-1. If this game goes 6 games, especially starting on the road for the Sens, Ottawa will be exhausted. You still cannot trust Dion Phaneuf and you cannot trust Tuukka Rask. Oh, and good luck slowing down the waterbug.
Hard series to predict, but since I’ve been all over Ottawa down the stretch of the season, I will take them in 7 games.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs Pittsburgh Penguins
In Columbus’ last 6 games versus playoff contenders, they went 2-4 from March through April. Sergei Bobrovsky was in net for four of those games. He did post a remarkable 1.90 goals against average but took his latest loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Pittsburgh has home ice advantage where they went 32-10 and winning their final home games in April. One being against Columbus, 4-1.
Give me Pittsburgh in the 4-0 sweep.
New York Rangers vs Montreal Canadiens
Give me Montreal in six games, and here’s why.
