Chicago Blackhawks vs Edmonton Oilers Preview
At no surprise the Chicago Blackhawks are among the best team in the NHL, again. Winners of two Stanley Cups in four years, Chicago will skate into Edmonton (literally with all that snow and ice) and take on the Edmonton Oilers at the Rexall Place.
As for Edmonton they enter this game on a season high three game winning streak and their confidence is at an all time high – it only took long enough.
The Oilers were 5 for 9 on the power play the past two games, while killing all nine they’ve faced during the win streak. The penalty-killing unit has only given up goals on 2 of 33 chances in nine games.
Jordan Eberle’s production is also helping.
The right wing has three goals and one assist in three games after scoring twice Thursday. He has six goals and 12 assists in 12 career meetings with Chicago.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has also thrived against the Blackhawks, collecting nine points in six games, including a career-high five in a 9-2 home win Nov. 19, 2011.
But if Edmonton wants to keep up their winning streak they will have to find a way to stop this red hot road team that holds a 7-3-1 record.
The teams have split six meetings since 2011, but Chicago has won the last two, including a 5-4 victory at home Nov. 10, with Shaw and Kruger getting a goal each.
Patrick Kane had an assist in that meeting, giving him 31 points in 24 career games against the Oilers, and 18 have come during a 10-game point streak.
Captain Jonathan Toews has seven goals and four assists over his past seven games at Rexall Place.
The Blackhawks, though, will likely have to contend with Devan Dubnyk, who has stopped 71 of 74 shots with one shutout while starting every game of the Oilers’ streak. He lost his five previous starts behind a 3.26 goals-against average.
Dubnyk is 2-4-0 with a 3.83 GAA in eight games – seven starts – versus the Blackhawks. He had 31 saves against them earlier this month.

David Perron has four goals and two assists in the past three games for Edmonton.
Blackhawks right wing Marian Hossa (personal) will miss Monday’s game and center Michal Handzus (hand) is questionable. Chicago recently lost left wing Bryan Bickell (lower body) until early December.
Goalie Richard Bachman (lower body) and right wing Tyler Pitlick (knee) are out indefinitely for the Oilers.

Chicago Blackhawks vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction
This is a top rated NHL pick and it will be documented on our overall NHL record. In fact this is a $1,000 play. We are 2-1 with these picks since the start of the season.
Let’s be serious, the Oilers beat up on 3 bad teams and yes they are just as bad as them. They beat up on Calgary, Florida and Columbus all before they got stomped by Dallas and San Jose.
Expect the Blackhawks to set this Edmonton team straight as they should roll towards a multi-goal victory. But to be on the safe side we are sticking with the money line odds. They are a bit high but because the Oilers are on a 3 game winning streak and they are at home the Hawks are not a -190 favorite.
Take the -143 odds and don’t look back.
Chicago Blackhawks -143 to win $1,000
