Wednesday 3/18/15 and here at Pucking Hockey we have a NHL hockey prediction tonight between the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers. Who will win tonight?
Cameron Talbot or Henrik Lundqvist?
Not only are the Rangers setting themselves up for perhaps another long playoff run, they have vaulted to the top of the NHL standings. And Talbot is a big reason why.
New York’s 15-2-3 since Henrik Lundqvust went down with an injury. Now that Lundqvist has been instated to start practicing again the only question now is, Do you yank the red-hot Cameron Talbot from the net? This is going to be a very hard decision Alain Vigneault will have to make, and in my opinion will either make or break the Rangers in the playoffs.
In Talbot’s last 10 appearances, he is 8-1-1 with a 1.49 goals-against average, a .951 save percentage, and two shutouts.
Another injury for concern is to Martin St. Louis. But like I mentioned earlier in the week, his injury is a blessing to himself and the New York Rangers.
Can The Blackhawks Succeed Without Patrick Kane?
The Blackhawks took a dominating win in Chicago last night over the New York Islanders 4-1 and they will be at Madison Square Garden tonight to face the New York Rangers. Can Chicago complete the New York sweep this week?
Crawford made 38 saves, leaving the possibility that backup Scott Darling will get the nod to complete the back-to-back set as Chicago begins a four-game road trip.
Surprisingly, The Blackhawks improved to 6-1-1 since Patrick Kane suffered a fractured clavicle Feb. 24 Something I did not expect to happen but things may change when the playoffs roll around.
Free NHL Hockey Prediction Tonight
Chicago is in a back to back situation and the Rangers are a hefty home favorite. It will be interesting to see how Cameron Talbot plays knowing that Henrik Lundqvist is nearing a return.
I recommend not touching this game until we see how Talbot and the Rangers respond to Lundqvist’s return. Also, this could very well be a 2015 Stanley Cup Finals Preview. We will learn a lot about each team tonight.
