Rask allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Bruins loss to the Blues on Tuesday. Jonas Gustavsson started last night, so the Bruins will go back to Rask tonight in Ottawa. Rask has gone 5-1-2 with a 1.29 GAA and .957 SV% in December ad has been spectacular on the road this year—in nine road starts he has gone 7-1-2 with a 1.83 GAA.
Craig Anderson stopped 39 of 40 shots in Tuesday’s 2-1 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers. Anderson was named the game’s second star for his outstanding effort, but he did allow two goals on two shootout attempts to Brandon Pirri and Aleksander Barkov. The 34-year-old has a 15-9-4 record with a 2.73 goals-against-average and a .919 save percentage
Columbus Blue Jackets at Florida Panthers
Joonas Korpisalo vs Roberto Luongo
Roberto Luongo stopped 15 of 16 shots in Tuesday’s 2-1 shootout win over the Ottawa Senators. Luongo extends his winning streak to four games. The 36-year-old has a 14-11-3 record with a 2.21 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage this season. He’s proving to be a solid fantasy option this season
Jonathan Bernier turned aside 23-of-26 shots in a 3-2 loss to Arizona on Tuesday.
The loss snapped a two game streak of wins for the much maligned-former clear cut number one goalie. His numbers are not flattering and it’s going to take a massive streak of great play to get back to respectability. He is 2-9-3 with a 3.21 GAA and .889 save percentage in 14 appearances.
Greiss allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Islanders loss in Colorado on December 17th. Jaroslav Halak has started three of the last four games, but will miss tonight’s game due to injury, so Greiss will start vs. the Maple Leafs. Greiss has gone 5-2-2 with a 2.05 GAA and .931 SV% on home ice this season.
St. Louis Blues at Dallas Stars
Brian Elliott vs Antti Niemi
Elliott surrendered two goals on 38 shots in the Blues win over the Flames on December 19th. Jake Allen started last night, so Elliott will go tonight in Dallas. Elliott has gone 3-2-1 with a 2.64 GAA and .904 SV%
Corey Crawford allowed four goals on 32 shots in Tuesday’s 4-0 loss to the Stars.
The loss was just Crawford’s second in his last nine starts. The 30-year-old has an 18-9-2 record with a 2.22 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage. He’ll continue to be one of the better fantasy options down the stretch.
Pittsburgh Penguins at Winnipeg Jets
Jeff Zatkoff vs Connor Hellebuyck
Connor Hellebuyck was pulled in the second period, after stopping only three of fourteen shots in the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Hellebuyck now falls to 5-3-0 in eight starts this season. Hellebuyck has a .916 save percentage and 2.41 goals against average this campaign.
Louis Domingue made 37 saves in a 3-2 win over Toronto on Tuesday. It was the 23 year-old’s second straight win after shutting out the Islanders on Saturday. Pretty nice way to backup the shutout win. In three starts this season since getting called up last week, Domingue has 2-1 record with a 1.97 GAA and .946 save percentage. It’s a small sample size but he looks to be a better backup option than Anders Lindback right now.
Semyon Varlamov was outplayed by Jonathan Bernier in the Colorado Avalanche’s 7-4 loss to the Maple Leafs on Monday night. It was an off night for Varlamov, who had previously won his last five games in a row. Varlamov stopped fifteen of twenty-one shots during the game for a .714 save percentage. With the loss, Varlamov is now 12-9-1 with a .914 save percentage and a 2.61 goals against average.
Philadelphia Flyers at Anaheim Ducks
Steve Mason vs Frederik Andersen
Goaltender Steve Mason made 26 saves in the Philadelphia Flyers’ 4-3 victory over the visiting St. Louis Blues Monday night. St. Louis took a 3-0 lead with three goals after one and a half periods before the Flyers rallied. Mason now has a season record of 7-8-5, with a goals-against average of 2.72 and a save percentage of .913. Mason’s fantasy value has decreased this season but he looked quite efficient Monday in a very impressive comeback by the Flyers
After a pretty good November when Nilsson went 4-5-1 with 24 goals against in 10 games, he’s returned to prior form in December. Sure he’s 5-2-0 in seven games this month but he’s allowed 21 goals in that time.
Karri Ramo made 19 saves on 20 shots to pace the Flames to a 4-1 victory over Winnipeg on Tuesday. Ramo snapped a two game losing streak with the win. The Flames have won 10 in a row at home now and he’s played a big part in that. He’s improved his recorded to 12-10-1 to go with a 2.74 GAA and .907 save percentage in 23 appearances this season.
