Vancouver Canucks at Florida Panthers
Miller allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Canucks shootout win over the Red Wings on Friday. Despite the win, it still was not a great outing for Miller, who has allowed a combined 12 goals on 93 shots (.871 SV%) in his last three games. Today he will take on a Panthers team that has won three in a row while outscoring their opponents 12-2.
Luongo stopped all 24 shots that he faced in the Panthers shutout win in Carolina on Friday. Luongo has now won two in a row while stopping 57 of 58 shots (.983 SV%). This afternoon he will get a chance to face his former team for the first time this season—he has gone 6-6-1 with a 2.35 GAA and .923 SV% on home ice.
New Jersey Devils at Boston Bruins
Schneider allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Devils loss to the Panthers on Thursday. Keith Kinkaid started on Saturday, but it will be Schneider tonight in Boston. Schneider has gone 3-3-2 with a 2.48 GAA and .914 SV% in December, but he has played well (8-3-1) on the road this season
Ottawa Senators at Tampa Bay Lightning
Hammond allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Senators loss in Washington on Wednesday. It was a solid return to the crease for Hammond, who will get the nod tonight in Tampa Bay. Overall, Hammond is 2-1-2 with a 2.36 GAA and .929 SV% on the season and tonight he takes on a banged up Lightning team.
Bishop allowed four goals on 22 shots in the Lightning’s loss in Washington on Friday. Bishop is 4-2-0 with a 1.87 GAA and .932 SV% in December and tonight will be his second start of the season vs. Ottawa—he made 30 saves in a 4-1 win over the Senators on December 10th.
Calgary Flames at Detroit Red Wings
Ramo allowed three goals on 22 shots in the Flames loss in St. Louis last night. It wasn’t a great outing but it also wasn’t a busy night, so Ramo will go again tonight in Detroit. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak and he now sits at 5-1-0 with a 2.29 GAA and .922 SV% in December.
Mrazek yielded two goals on 30 shots in the Red Wings loss to the Sabres on Monday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Mrazek, who will start tonight vs. the Flames. Mrazek has gone 5-2-3 with a 2.22 GAA and .923 SV% on home ice this season—the Flames are 7-1-0 in December.
Washington Capitals at New York Rangers
Holtby was yanked after yielding three goals on 12 shots in the Capitals loss to the Lightning on Friday. It was a rare rough outing for Holtby, who had been exceptional leading up to Friday. Tonight it looks like he will take on the Rangers for the second time this season—he allowed five goals on 22 shots in a 5-2 loss in the first meeting.
Lundqvist gave up four goals on 35 shots in the Rangers loss in Winnipeg on Friday. He has now lost four of his last five games while posting a 3.84 GAA and .882 SV%. He has struggled recent and tonight he will take on the Capitals for the second time this season—he won the first meeting, but the Capitals have won their last four games while averaging 3.25 goals per game.
San Jose Sharks at Chicago Blackhawks
Jones allowed four tallies on 31 shots in the Sharks OT win in Toronto on Thursday. Alex Stalock started and struggled on Friday, so it should be Jones tonight in Chicago. In his first start against the Blackhawks, Jones allowed four goals on 25 shots in a 5-2 loss back in late November.
