It was a rough night – last night – with our predictions. We nearly went 2-1 instead Ilya Bryzgalov’s horrific goaltending and the Jets lack of scoring screwed us as we finished 0-3. So tonight we are giving out our top rated NHL pick for free as it should be an easy winner from start to finish.
This season these northeast rivals have faced-off twice, the first meeting staying under while the second meeting pushed. Both game totals were set at 5.
With their wrath of injuries, the Senators are playing strong and getting stellar defense as well as goaltending. Ben Bishop will start tonight and he’s got a GAA of just 2.15 with a save percentage of .938. In his last six starts, he has not allowed more than two goals. And only once this season has he allowed more than 2 goals.
To me Ottawa was never a scoring machine, and without center Jason Spezza the socring has dropped even more, didn’t think that was possible. Ottawa enters Toronto with a three game losing streak and haven’t score more than two goals in any of those games. They have just 52 goals this season and are averaging the fewest goals per game in the Eastern Conference.
They rely on strong defense along with strong goaltending. Which should be the case tonight, the Sens have only allowed just five goals in two meetings with Toronto this season.
Reimer will look to add to those stats facing the Senators tonight where he is 5-1-1 with a .943 SV% and a 1.70 GAA in his career against Ottawa. His last match-up he faced 30 shots, stopping 28.
As for the Leafs offense, it’s pretty hot as of late especially with Nazem Kadri, who has four goals and five assists during a five-game point streak
I feel as though the money line odds are too high for the Leafs in this situation at home. Especially since the Leafs are just 5-5 at home this season. The key to getting the win tonight with our prediction will come down to strong goaltending and staying out of the penalty box.
The Sens are 5-2-1 this season in under games when playing a divisional opponent. And the Leafs are 5-3-1 this season in under games when playing a divisional opponent.
This will be the third time I’m taking the UNDER between these two teams and I suggest you do so as well.
UNDER 5 ($500)
