It’s been yet another circus for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Dion Phaneuf – I mean Phaneough – but what’s hockey with out the Toronto Maple Laffs drama?
I try every season to stick up for Dion Phaneuef, as I can see the potential in him if he had a fresh start in another city, but this season has changed my mind. Hockey fans around the world, even outside or Toronto, have had Phaneough.
I will say this, Phaneuf plays a bit of an old school style of hockey when it comes to blind side hits of course, which is frowned upon in the NHL. In one match-up this season against the Carolina Hurricanes, he took his frustration out on Jordan Staal by completely laying him out, with a blind side hit.
Jordan’s brother, Eric Staal, stood up for his brother and dropped the mittens.
Eric Stall stared him down making a statement basically to the rest of the league that Dion is a weak sticky parasitic infested piece of turd.
My opinion has changed and Dion Phaneuf is not NHL material. He does not have the skin for the league and definitely not a good defense or leader. Much like San Jose did to Joe Thornton, it’s time to rip that “C” off his chest. Seriously, when’s the last time you saw a Laffs player stick up for Phaneuf on the ice? They can’t even stand him, unless it’s Phil Kessel holding his hand and telling him “everything will be OK“.
Here’s a couple of comments I have read from hockey fans.
“Dion the useless Neanderthal”
“Saw his big ugly face on a billboard today. I will never buy a citizen watch!”
Needless to say, I now agree with the rest of you hockey fans….
