New York Rangers Preview
Good news for the Rangers, Derek Stepan could return Friday at the earliest. Hopefully his addition will fix their puck possession time. That has been their downfall as of late but like most great teams they fix their flaws. There’s a reason why it’s an 82 game season. Not just because hockey players are the best athletes in the world.
The Rangers are 6-5-3 on the road this season while the Wild are 11-3-1 at home and will send Devan Dubnyk to the crease to match up against King Henrik.
- Rangers are 9-3 in their last 12 vs. Central.
- Rangers are 8-3 in their last 11 vs. a team with a winning record.
- Rangers are 49-21 in their last 70 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game.
Minnesota Wild Preview
I know the Canucks are a joke of a team and have yet to rebuild the proper way through the draft none the less, the Wild destroyed them 6-2 in their last game out. The Wild had scored just 10 goals over their past six games, but improved goaltending and play in the defensive zone led them to a 4-0-2 record during that span.
It appears Devan Dubnyk is finally back to his 2014-2015 ways. He’s rolling right now, allowing two goals or less in each of his last five appearances, while sporting a pretty .922 save percentage. Minnesota ranks top 10 in the NHL in both goals per game 2.7 and goals against 2.3 so far this season.
- Wild’s match-ups have gone under is 6-1 in last 7 overall
- Wild’s match-ups have gone under is 6-1-1 in last 8 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game
- Wild’s match-ups have gone under is 4-1-2 in last 7 games following a win.
