New York Islanders vs Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Prediction 3-3-17
The Islanders are a team that has struggled quite a bit on the year and have continued to struggle, despite improving since the firing of Jack Capuano. With that being the case the Islanders would like to rebound in this game and potentially pick up some of the ground they should get in the playoffs. However, it will be a challenge for the Islanders.
On the season the Islanders have been scoring 2.9 goals a game on average. The issue is their defense giving up 3.0 goals a game as well. Starting netminder Thomas Greiss has fallen apart tremendously as of late, and at the wrong time of the season.
With the Blackhawks, they come into this game winning 10 of their last 11 games. And if Patrick Kane shows up to the level that he is able to, the Blackhawks have proven time and time again that they are nearly unbeatable. A perfect example of that is the game the Blackhawks had when they played against the Penguins. In that game, the Blackhawks were able to get Kane going for a hat trick as Chicago ended up winning the game by a score of 4-1.
NHL Starting Goalies Tonight
Corey Crawford returns after missing a few games due to an illness. He is 24-13-3 with a 2.58 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.
Free NHL Betting Pick: Chicago Blackhawks, easily
The Islanders have struggled when they are faced with a team that is far superior to them. A perfect example of this was when the Islanders played the Blue Jackets before the Stars. In that game, the Islanders were outmatched at every position and ended up dropping the match 7-0. Not a fan of puck lines, but have to take the Hawks -1.5 in this one.
