On defense they have allowed just 2.5 gpg on the year, which is 10th in the league, and they have done very well on the penalty kill where they rank 2nd in the league, allowing teams to convert on just 12.9% of their power play chances.
The Isles currently rank 8th overall in scoring, potting amazingly 2.7 goals per game while converting on 18% of their power play chances, which ranks 21st in the league. Not that stat is trash.
At the defensive side of the barn they rank 10th overall only allowing 2.5 goals per game. In the penalty killing department the Isles rank an amazing 2nd overall allowing teams to convert on just 12% of their chances.
New York has killed off 27 of 29 penalties in its last nine games but the Red Wings have scored on four of their last eight power plays in the series. The Islanders have gone 9 for 29 with a man advantage in their past 10 meetings with Detroit.

On defense they have been decent, ranking 12th in goals allowed, giving up just 2.5 gpg, while allowing teams to convert on 20.7% of their power play chances, which is 23rd in the league.
Detroit ranks an awful 22nd in scoring, Datsyuk and Zetterberg have been MIA for most part of the season. They are barely scoring 2.5 goals per game and in their last match-up they were hosed 6-3. But the loss falls on Jimmy Howard if you ask me.
At the defensive side of the ice which seems to be a solid 3inches, ranking 12th overall in goals allowed, giving up just 2.4 goals per game. However they rank 23rd in the penalty killing department.
Detroit had dropped five consecutive home games against New York before a 4-1 victory January 31, 2015. The Red Wings were outshot 23-19 but Mrazek shined in net.
