Boston Bruins: Looks like Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas will be sitting out next season and the Bruins will approach the offseason as if Thomas is no longer on the roster. Thomas has a NTC but it’s due to expire on July 1st. If Thomas is in fact not playing next season due to family issues, the Bruins will not be able to trade him and will go against the cap salary for 2012-2013.
Vancouver Canucks: GM Mike Gillis will be sitting down with Roberto Luongo next week to see where he stands with the organization. Whether or not he will remain a Canuck, only time will tell.
Toronto Maple Leafs: If Roberto Luongo is asking to be traded the Leafs could be in the hunt for him. As well ass Anders Lindback, Jonathan Bernier, Tomas Vokoun and Josh Harding.
Chicago Blackhawks: Hawks GM said that Patrick Kane needs to seek mental help. Between beating up cab drivers over a few cents and choking females, this kid needs to do something fast before his career becomes extinct.
Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers may be ready to move on without backup Sergei Bobrovsky and seek other backups. Tomas Vokoun is what I am hearing. The Flyers are also in the hunt for Ryan Suter. With news that captain Chris Pronger has moved to St. Louis, the Flyers will most likely be appointing the captaincy to Claude Giroux. As for a defenseman, if you recall the Predators have made successful trades with the Flyers in the past, especially defensemen (Coburn and Timonen).
Montreal Canadiens: The Habs are in search of a new head coach, so far Michael Therrien and Marc Crawford are in the running.
Washington Capitals: The Capitals are also looking for a new head coach, looks like they will stay within the organization. Dean Evason and Jim Johnson. After they find their new head coach and sit down with him, I would assume they would address resigning Dennis Wideman, that’s if they wan’t to make a deep playoff run in the future.
Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins are looking to extend both Jordan Staal and Sidney Crosby’s contracts, if they can’t get both resigned expect Staal to hit the market this summer. The Penguins need to tighten up their defense and with names like Tobias Enstrom, Ryan Suter, Matt Carle and Dennis Wideman available they could sell Staal for anyone of these dmen.
Winnipeg Jets: Tobias Enstrom has a cap hit of $3.75 next season, and will most likely wan’t a pay raise once his contract expires. The Jets have the defense they already need but they are currently seeking a top 6 forward and by putting Enstrom on the market this summer they could very well land that top 6 forward.
Ottawa Senators: Daniel Alfredsson made it clear at the World Championships that he most likely played his last game as a Senator. He has one year left in his contract worth $1 million.
New Jersey Devils: If they cannot come to terms with Zach Parise expect him to land in either Pittsburgh, Detroit or Chicago. With the Devils making it to the Finals, I don’t see Parise leaving New Jersey, and I can guarantee if he wins the cup, he will resign in Jersey.
Edmonton Oilers: They will be drafting Nail Yakupov.
Calgary Flames: Miikka Kipprusoff is not going anywhere this offseason, the regular season could be another story.
Phoenix Coyotes: Shane Doane will be resigning in Phoenix.
Detroit Red Wings: Tomas Holmstrom could be retiring if not resigned. Also with Lidstrom retiring, the Wings will be in the hunt for Suter more than Parise.
Tampa Bay Lightning: GM Steve Yzerman is trying to pursue Kings backup Jonathan Bernier, as well as Josh Harding and Tomas Vokoun.
