Not sure why some teams play well away from their own barn, the Kings are 8-3-2 on the road. Possibly because the state of LA sucks and no well-respected hockey fan wants to be there. Especially the entire LA lineup. LA eats people’s souls, take Mike Richards for example.
Since November 25th the Kings are an impressive 7-2. Defeating legit teams: Chicago, Shittsburgh and Tampon Bay.
The Kings may be slowing down, they fired 40+ shots in 2 of their last 3 games. Their third game was in Buffalo where they only fired 21 shots. Expect Jonathan Quick to start tonight. He’s one of the few players who’s well-rested after getting the night off on a second back to back situation.
Did you see that sick save in against the Penguins on 12/11/15 ?
Only scoring one goal in their last 3 games the Senators are coming off of a disastrous 1-3 road trip. Their last defeat was in Montreal, 3-1.
Craig Anderson was pulled in the 2nd period against Montreal after allowing the Canadiens’ last goal 3(rd). He finished the night with a .911 save percentage. It wasn’t all his fault for the loss. Backup Chris Driedger stopped “all” 11 shots he faced. By then the damage was done, the Canadiens played keep away at that point.
Anderson started 14 straight contests, going 1-5-2 with a 2.59 goals against average during that span. He’s a disgraceful 1-7-4 lifetime with a 3.82 GAA against the Kings. Quite embarrassing for us Americans. However, no goalie can out play Quick.
NHL Starting Goalies
LA Kings – Jonathan Quick
Ottawa Senators – Craig Anderson
