Los Angeles had a productive season, completing 48-28-6 for 102 points. They lost the Pacific Division crown to Anaheim on the season’s last day. That prompted a first round matchup with San Jose as opposed to confronting one of the wild card teams.
The bright side is the core of the Kings is back for this season. Tyler Toffoli drove the group with 33 goals last season. Anze Kopitar had a team-high 49 assists which landed him the next captain.
