Today is the first time that Hornqvist has practiced since getting injured on March 8th. He has only appeared in 14 games this season, but he has scored eight points in limited games.
Vanek did not take part in the morning skate, so as expected Vanek will not play tonight because of an upper-body injury.

Malkin described himself Wednesday as “not 100 percent” and attempted to lower expectations for a return Friday at the New York Islanders. Malkin has missed the last six games. He has played in only three of the Penguins’ previous 13 games. They are 11-2-0 over that stretch but only 7 for 31 (22.6 percent) on the power play without Malkin in the lineup. Malkin is considered day to day, coach Dan Bylsma said.
MacLean says Methot won’t play tonight. Methot left Tuesday’s game with a knee injury. He will be kept out of tonight’s game, but could return this weekend.
