NHL Starting Goalies
- Los Angeles Kings -> Jonathan Quick
It wasn’t a good game for Jonathan Quick and the Kings as they were blanked by Minnesota 3-0 on Thursday night. Quick was beaten on the power play, at even strength, and while shorthanded as well. Noting that this was just the second time over his last 12 starts that three or more pucks have beaten him in a game.
Quick has posted a 3.34 goals against average in starting each of those matchups after going 3-0-1 with a 1.23 goals against average and two shutouts in his previous four against the Coyotes.
- Arizona Coyotes -> Louis Domingue
Thursday’s 3-1 loss to San Jose. Domingue turned away 20 of 22 shots, and was the unfortunate recipient of two unfavorable bounces. The second of which resulted in an own-goal. He’s still rocking a .927 save percentage and 2.18 goals against average with a 7-4-3 record though.
Domingue has allowed seven goals while losing his last three starts on a home stand.
Kings vs Coyotes Preview
The LA Kings are currently scoring 2.6 goals per game and potting on 21.4 percent of their power plays. Defensively, the Los Angeles Kings are currently allowing 2.2 goals per game and killing 82% of their power play chances.
Tyler Toffoli leads the Kings with 22 goals, Anze Kopitar has 27 assists and Jeff Carter has 120 shots on goal.
Los Angeles record stands at 29-14-3 and has opened up a 10-point lead on the Sharks and Vancouver, having scored three goals in each of their previous four games. Playing their fourth game in six nights, though, the Kings couldn’t keep up with Minnesota on Thursday and fell 3-0.
The Arizona Coyotes are scoring 2.7 goals per game and potting on 18.5% of their power play chances. Defensively, the Yotes are allowing 3.00 goals per game and killing 76.1% of their power play chances.
Shane Doan leads Arizona with 16 goals, nor surprise there while Oliver Ekman-Larsson has 20 assists and rookie Max Domi has 83 shots on goal.
Arizona currently standing at 22-19-5 began their home stretch by scoring 4 goals each time in victories over Nashville and Edmonton to give them a four-game winning streak, but they’ve been outscored 10-4 in the ensuing 0-3-1 stretch
