It’s March 6th and there are six NHL hockey games for tonight. Here’s our advice for NHL hockey picks predictions, and the NHL odds.
Sometimes with hockey, when it comes to gambling, you need to take a few nights off throughout the week. Especially not only when you’re showing a profit for the week, but when the NHL odds look on point.
And that’s what tonight looks like. Every team that’s a favorite tonight, they are favorites for a reason. But I can’t justify spending $330 on the Chicago Blackhawks to just profit $100. Or another example, $310 to just win $100 on the Ottawa Senators.
Minnesota Wild -130
Carolina Hurricanes +110
Columbus Blue Jackets +115
New Jersey Devils -135
Buffalo Sabres +255
Ottawa Senators -310
Calgary Flames +195
Detroit Red Wings -225
Edmonton Oilers +265
Chicago Blackhawks -330
Pittsburgh Penguins -105
Anaheim Ducks -115
By looking at these match-up’s, like I said, every favorite should win. If you can justify spending the money on these high-priced teams, go for it, or don’t, because one bad bounce and you could get screwed. Why take a risk with a high-priced team, when you can seek out those low-priced teams and only risk a little?
That’s why I always preach underdogs and low-priced teams. Value is the name of the game when it comes to hockey.
Buffalo has been money the last two weeks as huge underdogs, but that was only because of Michal Neuvirth. He’s no longer on the team and Chad Johnson is starting tonight, no thank you.
Minnesota played last night, they were our top NHL picks of the month, they won. But they are in a back to back situation, on the road again, and I can’t see the Hurricanes losing on home ice, on a Friday night. But it’s still the Carolina Hurricanes. No thank you.
Calgary looks like a hot play, but they are in a back to back situation, still on the road, and Jonas Hiller is in net. I love Hiller, I think he is great, but can he stop the Red Wings offense? Can this young Flames team handle a back to back situation on the road, in Detroit, on a Friday night? No thank you.
As for the Penguins/Ducks match-up this game does look intriguing. The Ducks are a slight favorite, and for good reason, they are home, on a Friday night. Marc-Andre Fleury will most likely start, but in my opinion, I don’t like betting on him. He’s been good this season but it’s just a matter of time until he falls apart again. He’s consistently, broken down throughout his career, and I will never invest in him.
As for the Ducks, they have been red-hot lately and home. They may be worth a shot but the Penguins have surprised me before, and will this be a night where Fleury is on his game? I am basically saying this game is purely based of consistency and inconsistency. Not worth my money.
