It’s March 2nd 2015, and here at Pucking Hockey we have a free NHL hockey pick tonight between the Nashville Predators and New York Rangers.
Nashville Predators A Slight Road Underdog
The Nashville Predators have found themselves resulting in their 2nd back to back losses for just the second time this season. Something the Predators are not used to. Things seem to be slipping for Nashville, and that’s not good, considering the playoffs are just around the corner. Remember, hot teams entering the playoffs, historically, have a deep playoff run, regardless of where they finish in the standings.
I haven’t lost faith in Nashville, head coach Peter Laviolettte knows what needs to be done to get Nashville back on track. Honestly though, I wouldn’t even be talking like this if Nashville didn’t win so much and lead the NHL standing, mostly all season long.
Slight bump in the road, no need to worry Smashville.
Henrik Lundqvist-less New York Rangers
The Rangers are 4-1 in their last 5 games, 4 of those 5 teams are non playoff contenders. They clipped Calgary 1-0 but lost 3-2 to the Flyers. And I still don’t think Cam Talbot can keep this team afloat over the long haul, until Lundqvist comes back.
With a victory over the Predators, New York – which has won six of eight at home – will tie the rival Islanders for first place.
Backup Cam Talbot has been far from great, posting a 2.80 GAA while starting 12 of the last 13 games – well higher than the 2.16 he had while backup up Lundqvist in the season’s first four months. But he’s 8-2-2 in this stretch thanks to the Rangers averaging a league-best 3.71 goals in February.
Talbot made 20 saves in Nashville last month, while Rinne – who has never started at MSG – stopped 30.
Nashville Predators vs New York Rangers Free NHL Pick Tonight
It’s not often you get Nashville has a very slight underdog after being huge money line odd favorites for most of this season. I see too many teams like Nashville that go from being huge favorites to slight underdogs, and win the game as slight underdogs. I can’t see Nashville losing three games in a row, therefore I will be backing Nashville small.
Nashville Predators +101 (risking $100 to profit $101)
