NHL Hockey Media Needs Pucking Reality Check
NHL Hockey Media Needs Pucking Reality Check – Welcome to my first column entitled “Pucking Reality Check”. I will try to involve humor in my weekly bashing’s however be warned, I don’t have a great sense of humor.
I prefer to lash out 🙂
Here we go again the hockey reporters boosting up their rankings. Much like the Sabres when they win 2 games and they are touted to be going on a “run”. Oh Buffalo.
I’m a fan of John Tortorella’s coaching style and he does not shy away from anything. He is right about the Penguins though, and it’s not the players fault. It’s the front office in Pittsburgh allowing the media to make such a big deal when Crosby and company receive a cheap shot.
Last I checked, this is hockey and cheap shots will happen. Maybe Pittsburgh’s going bankrupt again and they need to suck the Penguin dry? Surprisingly Crosby didn’t make a big deal about it, he seems to have his emotions in check, finally.
If I was going to get one of those shots, it would probably be from him. – Sid the
I also give Tortorella a lot of credit for speaking his mind (the truth) and moving forward from the situation. He shut the media down with his quick answer and it was left at that. Crosby did the same in a sense, but Pittsburgh’s media/office most likely went crying to the league asking for Dubinsky’s head.
As a plumber will tell you, shit runs down
hill….or maybe uphill in this case?
We’re not going to whine here. Pittsburgh can whine. Pittsburgh whines enough for the whole league, so there’s no room for any other team to whine. We just go about our business. -Torts
There are a lot of bad hockey markets out there when it comes to media attention, and it’s pucking sad. I still don’t understand how teams allow such a large media personnel in the locker rooms after every game. Especially the one’s who ask the most idiotic questions I have ever heard. It’s one thing to watch hockey your whole life and THINK you know the game and it’s another to actually grow up playing the game, KNOWING THE GAME!
Hockey players in general should be more like Marshawn Lynch.
I’m just here so I don’t get fined” – Marshawn Lynch
