- Nashville Predators -> Pekka Rinne
Carter Hutton stopped 25 of 28 shots but took the loss and fell to 3-2-1 with a 2.97 GAA and a .895 save percentage in his six outings. Pekka Rinne, who is 16-13-6 with a 2.48 GAA, .906 save percentage and two shutouts, is expected to get the start tonight.
- Chicago Blackhawks -> Corey Crawford
Corey Crawford allowed three goals on 37 shots in Sunday’s 6-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Crawford has a 23-10-2 record with a 2.21 goals-against-average and a .926 save percentage this season.
Nashville Predators Preview
The Predators, 1-5-1 in their last seven away from home, are tied at the bottom of the NHL with Edmonton and New Jersey with 1.40 goals per game since Dec. 31. Neal has recorded three multigoal games in his last five against Chicago, totaling seven goals, and has 14 goals in 20 career meetings.
The Predators are 17th in the league in goals for with an average of 2.5 per game. Nashville is 20th in goals against as they allow 2.7 goals per contest. They are good on the power play, ranking 9th in the league as they convert 19.6 percent of their chances.
However Nashville is horrific in penalty killing as they are 29th in the league, killing off just 75.4 percent of their shorthanded situations.
Chicago Blackhawks Preview
After breaking out of the longest slump of his career, Marian Hossa looks to help the Blackhawks to their eighth consecutive win when the Nashville Predators visit the United Center on Tuesday night. Hossa had never gone longer without a goal in his 18-year career.
Hossa has not scored in 14 games entering Sunday’s 6-3 victory over Colorado, but he tallied two of the Blackhawks’ four second-period goals. That helped Chicago (27-13-4) inch within four points of Central Division-leading Dallas.
The mighty HAwks rank 6th in scoring, potting 2.8 goals per game. The Blackhawks are 7th in the league in goals against as they allow 2.4 goals per game. Chicago is 3rd in the league on the power play 22.9 percent of their chances with the man advantage. The Blackhawks are 10th in penalty killing as they successfully kill off 81.8 percent of their shorthanded situations.
