NHL Injuries 2013-14 are updated throughout the day. Be sure to check back periodically for injury updates
Max Pacioretty – Montreal Canadiens
Pacioretty will not play tonight vs. the Blue Jackets.
Rene Bourque – Montreal Canadiens
Bourque’s status for tonight’s game will be updated after practice.
James van Riemsdyk – Toronto Maple Leafs
Consider van Riemsdyk day-to-day and questionable for Saturday’s matchup with the Blackhawks.
Martin St. Louis – Tampa Bay Lightning
St. Louis missed practice yesterday and today after taking a Drew Doughty shot off the foot on Tuesday. He has no broken bone in his foot and can’t injure the foot anymore by playing on it, just comes down to pain tolerance. Brett Connolly would take St. Louis spot on the Lightning top line if he can’t play.
Kris Letang – Pittsburgh Penguins
Letang participated in a full practice yesterday and it was thought that he could be ready today. He could be back in the lineup on Saturday vs. Vancouver.
Evander Kane – Winnipeg Jets
Kane’s status for this evening’s game remains unknown. Expect an update later in the day. Kane has been dominant to start his fifth NHL season so this would be a huge loss for the Jets.
Dan Boyle – San Jose Sharks
According to Boyle’s agent, who has spoken with Boyle a number of times, the veteran defenseman “feels great.” Boyle is not experiencing any headaches, and remembers everything before getting checked from behind into the boards by St. Louis’ Maxim Lapierre on Tuesday night.
Boyle also remembers waking up on the ice as he was leaving on a stretcher. Boyle was knocked out cold for several minutes early in the first period of the Sharks’ 6-2 win over the Blues. This is great news for the Sharks, as it sounds like Boyle will not miss a lot of time.
Jimmy Howard – Detroit Red Wings
Howard will back up Jonas Gustavsson tonight and could return on Saturday vs. Phoenix.
Niklas Backstrom – Minnesota Wild
It is a good sign that Backstrom will be back in the Wild crease soon. Minnesota takes on Florida on Saturday, he should be ready to start then.
Brenden Morrow – St. Louis Blues
Morrow was dealing with some neck soreness after Tuesday’s game, but will play tonight after saying the pain is gone.
Ryan Callahan – New York Rangers
Callahan scored three goals in five games after just returning from shoulder surgery. The Rangers have recalled Darroll Powe from Hartford.
