Pittsburgh Penguins vs Boston Bruins, February 24th 2016

The Bruins are coming into Wednesday night’s game against the Penguin’s hoping to continue their sweep against the team, after beating them twice in December, thanks to an impressive save percentage (.970) from goaltender Tuukka Rask. However, Pittsburgh is coming into TD Garden with a 3-0-1 road game record they’re looking to capitalize on.
The Penguins (30-20-8) are feeling hopeful coming into Wednesday’s game, thanks to the improvement of injured players Malkin and Bonino – while the two will not play against the Bruins, coach Mike Sullivan is happy with their progress and is excited at the prospect of having them back, soon. That motivation, along with their current performance on the road, brings them into TD Garden with confidence and a desire to continue their current road game streak. Some of their newfound ‘luck’ is found in rookie forward Scott Wilson, who has scored goals in the last three games straight.
The Bruins (32-22-6) are just 12-15-3 at home this season, and after having Tuesday off, they’re hoping to come into tonight’s game well-rested for better play on their home ice. Though their road games have proven to be better, forward Brad Marchand seems to think the team doesn’t stick to the same script they do on the road at home. “We kind of deviate, and it ends up costing us,” says Marchand. With forward Eriksson scoring eight goals in his past nine games, the Bruins will likely be looking to him to continue that streak, and better their overall home performance to improve their record, and continue their sweep against the Penguins this season.
