Pro Hockey Talk has reported that Rangers forward Marty St. Louis will be out of the lineup for about 2 weeks. But this injury will benefit St. Louis and the Rangers.
Marty St. Louis is one of my all time favorite hockey players. Not only because he is great, but because I feel like I have a special connection with Marty, considering we are both only 5′ 6″ – I give the smaller players my attention first, over any big guy in the league.
Not that there’s anything wrong with those type of players. Teams still need the Ovechkin’s and Getzlaf’s.
Think about it, St. Louis is 39 years old and although he’s an “older” player the human body starts to break down, it’s natural. And after a long hockey season, the 2 weeks rest will help St. Louis and the Rangers come playoff time. But as we all know, St. Louis wants to play and never wants to stop. Pride and determination.
The Rangers will be making the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Finals this season and I expect them to have another deep run. They are one of my favorites to hoist the Stanley Cup, as I expected them to do so last season.
Marty has 20 goals and 47 points in 68 games this year, averaging over 17-and-a-half minutes per night. He will be fresh and ready to roll come the playoffs, remember I said that when he leads the league in points during the post-season.
