Philadelphia Flyers vs Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction (11/13/13)
It’s Wednesday night rivalry and this one should be a dandy. The Penguins will take on the Metropolitan Division rival Flyers at home.
The Flyers started this season on a bad note barely averaging 2 goals a game. If it weren’t for Steve Mason the Flyers would have been getting blown out every game. But things have changed lately for the Flyers. They have back to back wins and have scored 4+ goals in each of those wins. You can almost assume that their scoring woes are finally over.
Claude Giroux finally tallied his first of the season over the weekend and Jakub Voracek had his first 2 goals of the season last night in Ottawa. We had the under 5.5 last night between the Flyers and Sens and we did cash that but we did not expect the Flyers to breakout scoring 5 goals.
As for the Penguins they are 11-6 and lead the Metropolitan division with 22 points. Nine points head of the Flyers, a number that was much larger last week until the Penguins hit a slight slump and the Flyers hit a slight high.
Crosby is back to his scoring ways and if he can remain healthy for the whole season unlike in the past he is on pace for over 100 points. He will get a shot tonight against the Flyers to put up a couple points, and should.
Philadelphia Flyers – Ray Emery (confirmed)
Pittsburgh Penguins – Marc-Andre Fleury (confirmed)
Neither of these teams like each other and the Penguins already have one win in the bag between the two. The Flyers are clicking at all cylinders finally and goaltending has been amazing so far and will look for revenge tonight.
I have two picks in this game as it’s the only match-up tonight worth investing money. The Penguins are a -240 money line home favorite and in my opinion that is way too high of odds. The Penguins are a good team but Vegas is overlooking the recent Flyers surge. Or are they not overlooking them and trying to trap everyone to bet the Penguins?
I’m going to stick with the hot team. Even though they played last night the Flyers offense looks lethal and clicking between all four lines. For some odd reason the Flyers always seem to win in Pitt as where the Penguins always seem to win in Philly. Tonight’s game is in Pitt.
The over/under is set at 5.5 and the over odds are +120 for the over. Another mistake on Vegas’ part.
Philadelphia Flyers +215 (risking $500 to win $1,075) TOP PLAY OF THE DAY
OVER 5.5 (+120 odds) (risking $100 to win $120)
