Nashville Predators vs Washington Capitals free NHL hockey pick prediction tonight from Pucking Hockey. March 28th 2015 (3/28/15)
Back On Track, At The Right Time
Smashville faithful were starting to get worried a couple of weeks back when the Predators couldn’t buy a game. They lost nine of eleven, before building a current three game winning streak.
The Predators seem to be back on track beating Tampa in a close 3-2 game and Montreal in a 3-2 game. They also beat Buffalo 3-0, but everyone’s beating up on Buffalo. However, today against the Capitals will be a challenge.
The Predators haven’t allowed a power-play goal in four games after surrendering seven on 19 opportunities in their previous seven contests. Washington leads the NHL with a 24.8 power-play percentage but hasn’t scored on the advantage in three straight, its longest drought since a four-game span

It’s All About Ovi
The first time around Barry Trotz was on the losing end of a high scoring game in Nashville. Today he will seek revenge, this time he has the home ice advantage.
Whether it’s the right coaching style or Alex Ovechkin is finally evolving, whatever it is, it’s working. I’ve never seen Ovechkin play this solid and structured, ever. Ovechkin has 73 points in 73 games and is just 3 goals shy of 50. In 9 NHL seasons, Ovechkin has scored 50+ goals in five times.
And as I am currently looking over his career numbers, I am coming to the realization he was never the problem in Washington. Despite being a -35 last season, he has had stellar numbers throughout his career. From high scoring points to pretty decent plus minus numbers.
Alex Ovechkin had two goals in the first match-up vs Nashville, giving him eight along with four assists in 10 career meetings.
All but one of the Capitals’ final eight games are against playoff contenders, with the first of two contests against the East-leading New York Rangers on Sunday. These crucial games will either ramp the Caps up or break them down before the playoffs.
Washington Capitals Injuries

Washington Capitals Trends and Stats

- Washington leads the league on the power play at 24.8%

Free NHL Hockey Prediction
This is a very hard game to predict. In one way I lean with the Predators as +118 road underdogs and seem to be back on track, and another way I lean with the Capitals considering they are home and playing on a Saturday afternoon. The fans will be ramped up for this one. And their power play is very pucking dangerous.
Barry Trotz will have his team ready and seek a victory against his former team of 15 NHL seasons. I personally think this is a coin toss, and will not be investing in this match-up.
However I have a more valuable prediction in the LA Kings and Minnesota Wild match-up. Be sure to check out my FREE TOP RATED NHL PICK OF THE DAY
