New York Rangers vs Montreal Canadiens Game 1 Prediction
I had said it before the season started, and I am saying it now. The Montreal Canadiens will be hoisting the Stanley Cup this summer. First, they will skate all over the New York Rangers, starting tonight as -155 home favorites.
Did you know the Rangers only won 11 games out of 30 on home ice?! Pucking Hosers!
The Rangers also went 0-3 in the series this season versus the Habs, one of which was at the Bell Centre. Along with that, goaltender Henrik Lundqvist is 14-20 with a rather high 2.87 goals against average in his career versus Montreal. And in Carey Price’s career versus the Rangers, he’s 15-6 with an impressive 1.82 goals against average.
Lundqvist has lost seven consecutive games in Montreal going 0-6-1 while allowing 4.42 goals per game and stopping the puck just .869% of the time. These numbers date back to the 2008-09 season. I am expecting a very short leash on Lundqvist and don’t be surprised if he doesn’t see much ice time, in this most likely, very short series.
Before the league started to tighten up, the Rangers started the season 13-4-0 while scoring 4+ goals per game. And unless the Rags reflect back on game 1 of the regular season, dig deep internally trying to find what helped them fly out of the gates. It’s not going to be easy slowing down Max Pacioretty who ended the season with 35 goals. Paul Byron, who finished with 22 goals, Alexander Radulov and Artturi Lehkonen with 19 goals this season.
Also, don’t forget who is skating in front of Carey Price now….Shea Weber. Ya know, a real defenseman and not somebody named P.K. Subban…..
Rangers vs Canadiens Stanley Cup Playoffs Prediction 4-12-17
If that wasn’t enough, since the firing of Michel Therrien, the Canadiens finished the season 16-7-1 while allowing just 2.00 goals per game. By the way, the last time Alain Vigneault faced Claude Julien in the playoffs. Julien and the Bruins won the Stanley Cup.
Eating the juice and backing the Montreal Canadiens. I love them so much in this game, I am making this a TOP NHL PICK OF THE MONTH.
- Montreal Canadiens -155 (risking $5,000 to profit $3,225)
