Detroit Tigers vs Tampa Bay Rays Free Pick 6/30/16
Thursday, June 30th First pitch is at 7:10 pm EST
Tampa Bay Rays -115 / Detroit Tigers +105
Detroit Tigers Offense
With JD Martinez still injured Steven Moya has stepped in, filling the void quite nicely as a rookie who stands 6’6″ Moya is 8 in his last 19 at bat the plate, three home runs along with four runs batted in the Tigers last five games. If that is not impressive Moya has played 16 games this season, hitting .320 with three home runs and six runs batted in so far this season.
Detroit in seven of their last ten games they have scored four or more runs and are now averaging 4.73 ranking tenth in the majors. For the season the Tigers are hitting .269 as a club.
Tampa Bay Rays
While against Odorizzi Miguel Cabrera is two for four, Nick Castellanos is a pathetic one for eight. Ian Kinsler is a lousy two for 10. While these batters have struggled against Odorizzi Logan Morrison has filled the void collecting a hit in 9 out of his last 26 at the plate and five runs batted in his last six games. He is now hitting .237 which, is not all that great but better than the rest of the offense.
Only averaging 2.08 runs per game, the Rays rank 27th overall, batting average? .240 as a team.
Detroit are 4-1 in Zimmerman’s last five starts with five days of rest. With his stats, rest is good for Zimmerman.
Tampa’s starting pitcher tonight Odorizzi, in his last five home starts is a lousy 1-4. The Rays are 1-2 in their last 13 games…..wow
