Here at Pucking Hockey we have a NHL hockey prediction today for Saturday March 21st 2015 between the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild. Who will win tonight in the NHL?
It’s All About Dubnyk and the Forecheck
Since Sean Burke sat Dubnky down and helped him fix his positioning, Dubnyk has been on a unbelieveable tear. He has helped the Wild get into playoff contention, and all the players are playing better because of it. The Wild’s forecheck lead by Zach Parise, is the up most amazing forecheck I have ever seen. They are grinding games out left and right and about to enter the playoffs red-hot.
However they will have to face the St. Louis Blues tonight, their arch divisional rival, and if the playoffs were to start today, these two teams would square off in the quarter finals.
Is It The Blues’ Year?
Last season all the “experts” predicted the Blues were the team to beat in the 2014 playoffs. Well, I guess they were, because they got beat alright. So do they have what it takes this postseason?
Goaltender Brian Elliott is 6-2-1 with a 1.41 goals-against average and two shutouts over a nine-start stretch. He stopped just 16 shots against the Wild last weekend, dropping to 6-1-0 with a 1.94 GAA versus Minnesota.
The Blues have limited opponents to 1.88 goals per game during a 12-2-2 stretch away from home.
NHL Starting Goalies
St. Louis Blues – Brian Elliott
Minnesota Wild – Devan Dubnyk
