Hi, I’m Brendan Shanahan of NHL player and safety, and if your name isn’t Ryan Miller, you will be pucked!
Tuesday night 2/8/12 Marc-Edourard Vlasic clearly boarded Danny Briere, and what do you know, no penalty was called on the play, nor a suspension from the league!
Clearly the NHL is not trying to cut down on head injuries unless your name is Ryan Miller. This season I have seen so many “interference” calls on players who barely touch goalies, all because a few players lightly tapped Ryan Miller. This is what I call the Ryan Miller Effect.
Well here we are, a real illegal incident…and nothing happens.
This dirty hit is so dangerous, Danny Briere could have been seriously injured. Is that what it takes before something happens Shanahan? Did Briere need to get a concussion or worse break his neck before you take action on Vlasic?!
Here is the video, try to mute out Steve Coates, or actually just turn the volume off. Steve Coates, the hype man for the Flyers, is the most annoying voice in NHL commentating. I literally get headaches every time he talks.
AGAIN I ASK, HOW THE PUCK IS THIS NOT SUSPENDABLE?
It’s funny, Brendan Shanahan creates reasoning videos when he suspends a player, but when a player is not suspended, no video. It’s time the NHL and Shanahan give reasoning on why certain players aren’t suspended. Especially this bad call.
