Three Free MLB Picks and Baseball Predictions 6/6/16
New York Mets vs Pittsburgh Pirates Free Baseball Prediction 6/6
The Mets will travel to Pittsburgh to open up a three-game series tonight. The Mets will look to even things up and find some consistency after splitting their last twelve games, while the Pirates could really use a win to get some momentum going their way, after losing five of their last six games, and narrowly avoiding the sweep from the LA Angels. In a matchup between two pitchers who have never faced each other, this could be an interesting game to watch. The Pirates are 0-7 in the last seven meetings between these two teams.
Tonight’s weather will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures reaching 75 degrees, and winds coming in from the Southwest at 9 mph. There is a chance of thunderstorms, and a 53% chance of rain.
New York Mets
The Mets (31-24) have lost five of their last eight, and have allowed seven runs in their last three games. On offense, they’re ranked just 27th in the league in scoring with an average of 3.83 runs per game. Leading the offense is Asdrubal Cabrera with 54 hits. Neil Walker has 25 RBI, and Yoenis Cespedes has 15 homers.
Steven Matz Starting Pitcher
Taking the hill tonight for New York will be Steven Matz, who has an impressive 7-1 record this season, and a 2.60 ERA. He hasn’t lost a road start this year, but this will be his first time playing against the Pirates
The Pirates (30-26) haven’t been doing very well lately, either, and would likely love to get a win here at home to swing things their way. On offense, they come in ranked 5th in the league in scoring, so they could use that to their advantage against a sluggish New York offense. Leading the way at the plate is Starling Marte with 70 hits. Gregory Polanco has 38 RBI and Andrew McCutchen has nine homers.
Jonathan Niese Starting Pitcher
Getting the call for Pittsburgh tonight will be Jonathan Niese, with a 5-2 record and 4.36 ERA. The Pirates are 4-1 in Niese’s last five starts in series openers, but Niese, too, has never faced off against the Mets.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Detroit Tigers Free Baseball Prediction 6/6
The Blue Jays will travel to Detroit tonight to begin a three-game series against the Tigers. Detroit is just coming off a sweep against the White Sox, while Toronto has won their last eight out of ten games, and are starting to hear chatter within the AL East about making a run for the top, with only the Boston Red Sox ahead of them. The Jays are 4-1 in their last five series openers, while the Tigers are 7-2 in their last nine games at home. In this series, Toronto holds the upper hand, going 4-0 in their last four matchups.
It will be mostly cloudy in Detroit tonight, with temperatures reaching 76 degrees, and winds coming in from the West at a strong 15 mph. There is a slight chance for storms, and a 23% chance of rain during the game.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays (31-27) have been impressive on offense all season long, and they really seem to be heating up even more lately, scoring 14 runs in their last three games. It’s Edwin Encarnacion leading that offense with 55 hits, followed by Josh Donaldson with 30 RBI, and Michael Saunders with nine homers.
J.A. Happ Starting Pitcher
Taking the hill tonight for Toronto will be J.A. Happ, hoping to add onto his incredible season so far. Happ is 6-2 for the Jays this season with a 3.06 ERA. Despite a rough showing his last time out, he’s one of the most solid pitchers Toronto has, and will likely look to bounce back from that. In his career against the Tigers, Happ is 1-0.
The Tigers (28-28) have split their last twelve games, but have to feel good about sweeping the Chicago White Sox before coming home to play the Jays. It certainly hasn’t been the offense that’s a problem, picking up 22 runs in their last three games. Leading the offense has been Ian Kinsler with 70 hits, followed by Victor Martinez with 34 RBI, and Miguel Cabrera with four homers.
Michael Fulmer Starting Pitcher
The Tigers will give the nod to Michael Fulmer tonight. The righty comes in with an ERA of 3.24 and a 5-1 record. This will just be Fulmer’s eighth career start, making those stats even more impressive. This will be his first meeting against the Blue Jays.
Toronto Blue Jays
- 1 Day: 1 pitcher, 29 pitches, 3 outs
- 3 Days: 5 pitchers, 124 pitches, 17 outs
- 5 Days: 7 pitchers, 149 pitches, 24 outs

- 5 Days: 8 pitchers, 182 pitches, 37 outs
Tampa Bay Rays vs Arizona Diamondbacks Free Baseball Prediction 6/6
The Rays and Diamondbacks will meet in the desert Monday night to kick off an interleague series. The Rays are coming in after winning the series against Minnesota, while the Diamondbacks narrowly avoided a sweep by the Chicago Cubs, grabbing a 3-2 win in Sunday’s matchup. Still, Tampa has won three in a row and Arizona has lost eight of their last twelve, so they’ll definitely be desperate for a win at home tonight. In the last meeting of these two teams in 2013, the Diamondbacks took the series, but it’s Tampa who has the upper hand now in interleague games, going 9-4 in their last 13.
It’s going to be a hot one in the desert tonight, with temperatures reaching 110 degrees, and winds gusting in from the Southwest at a strong 20 mph. With no chance of rain and clear skies, it could be a real heater.
Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays (25-30) have scored 18 runs in their last three games, and are on a bit of a hot streak lately, which has to make them feel good heading into a struggling Arizona territory. It seems like their offense is really starting to connect, led by Evan Longoria with 62 hits. Longoria is followed by Steven Souza Jr. with 23 RBI, and Logan Morrison with seven homers. The team has knocked out 79 homers this season so far.
Chris Archer Starting Pitcher
Taking the mound for the Rays will be Chris Archer, coming in with a 4.75 ERA and a 3-7 record on the season. This is just his second time meeting up with the Diamondbacks, receiving a no-decision in that first game.
The Diamondbacks (25-34) could really use a win here to switch their momentum around. They’ve allowed five or more runs from opposing teams in 10 of their last 13 games overall, but their offense hasn’t been attacking as well, either. Leading that offense has been Jean Segura with 70 hits, followed by Paul Goldschmidt with 34 RBI, and Brandon Drury with eight homers.
Robbie Ray Starting Pitcher
The D-Backs will give the ball to Robbie Ray tonight, who comes in with an ERA of 4.74 and a 2-4 record. This will be Ray’s first appearance against the Rays, and his 12th start of the season.
Tampa Bay Rays
