The 2014 Winter Olympics are over and congratulations to Team Canada for not losing a single game and ultimately winning gold. Here at Pucking Hockey we had some success of our own during the Olympics by going 8-5 +$2,060 overall also winning our two biggest picks of the tournament when Team USA faced Team Russia.
The Olympics are now over and the NHL is back therefore we have a top rated NHL pick now available. Including a free pick that you can read about below.
Los Angeles Kings vs Colorado Avalanche Prediction (2/26/14)
Not many people are giving the LA Kings much credit due to their recent sloppy play and bad losing streak prior to the Olympic break. Well, lucky for you, I believe the 2 week rest will benefit the Kings and their slumping players.
Defenseman Drew Doughty was one of the main reasons on why Team Canada played very good and won gold and I fully expect Doughty to carry that momentum into the Kings locker room which will rub off onto the players. Also let’s not forget about Jeff Carter, who was over in Sochi representing Team Canada as well. Much like Doughty, I expect Carter to carry his momentum of winning gold into the Kings locker room.
It’s not confirmed yet, but I do not believe Jonathan Quick is playing tonight. If so this pick becomes that much stronger, but if not this pick is still a solid play. Goaltending has not been the downfall of the Kings, lack of scoring has been the downfall. And as I said earlier, the 2 week rest should benefit the offensive players along with players flashing gold causing a BIG momentum boost.
This is not a BIG play, we actually have a BIG play in the Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres match-up. So keep this play small but whatever you do, do not scratch the Kings out of the playoff race.
Los Angeles Kings +105
